It is not necessary to stretch over the kitchen units to reach the window fastener. Opening the window does not disturb any items normally kept on the window cill, or any potted plants kept immediately outside the window. The view through the window is not obstructed by heavy mullians, or transom lights normally associated with windows in such a position.
