The reception counter at St Marys Maternity Hospital in Portsmouth is equipped with four vertically acting service openings. There are three along the front counter, and a wider and lower one on the return for wheelchair users. Each position has independent control of it's opening, and an extra momentary contact "panic" button which will close all four openings at twice the normal speed in the event of a threat.
